Transamerica's Group Retiree Medical Insurance Coverage


Transamerica's Group Retiree Medical Insurance coverage is specifically designed for retirees age 65 and older who are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. This coverage offers benefits that coordinates with Medicare - such as co-insurance and deductibles - to provide more protection. It enables employer and union groups to transition retirees to a defined contribution, fully insured program while limiting their open-ended obligations, reducing health care expenses, and other costs involved with management of retiree coverage.

Eligibility:

All retirees and their dependents age 65 and older enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B are eligible.



Hospitalization Coverage:

  • Part A deductible
  • Part A hospital co-payment
  • Part A hospital co-payment for each lifetime reserve day used
  • 100% of Medicare-eligible hospital expenses per year
  • Part A and Part B blood cost deductibles


Medical Coverage:

  • Part B coinsurance amounts
  • Skilled Nursing co-payments for 21st-100th day
  • Excess Part B coverage of 80% or 100%
  • At Home Recovery
  • Foreign Travel Emergency
  • Annual physical and various preventive tests and screenings
